Working in small teams and as a freelancer has meant that I took on different roles and responsibilities, from web development, to UX design, brand strategy, visual design, project management, copy writing, digital marketing and content development. This has made me into a kind of Product engineer skilled in every part of the product development process, from ideation to distribution.
I am curious about how people interact with technology and how to translate that knowledge into building meaningful experiences for them. I enjoy solving complex problems and I'm always ready to get my hands dirty with any challenge. I am diligent, analytical, a team player and have an almost obsessive attention to detail.
When I'm not busy being a geek, you'll find me reading, curating new music, playing the guitar, kicking ass in checkers (more like getting my ass kicked) or travelling.
As a UX Designer, this sounds like a no-brainer. But this is not just a cliche to me. It is a principle I have tested and proven to be true and so intentionally design by. Design should be a way of saying to people "I see you, I hear you and I want to help solve your problem."
I believe that the aim of design is not just to make things less complex, but to make them easier to understand. I love being able to break down complex processes for people and organisations so they don't have to do the hard work.
Working as a researcher and previously as an agency web developer having to solve many different problems for our clients, I have learned problem-solving hands-on. Every challenge, regardless of how big or small, has a solution if you spend enough time understanding the problem, asking the right questions and seeking answers from various perspectives.
